This is the plugin behind the directory you are browsing. AccessNow Projects turns WordPress into a showcase for software: plugins, web apps, PWAs, phone apps and themes, each with its own page, cover, gallery, links and the At a glance card.
What it does
- Every project starts hidden. A new project is published but seen only by an admin until it is explicitly made public, so forgetting a tick box never puts a half-finished thing online. Why the default matters.
- Single-file apps you can run here. Apps like the HTML Editor launch straight from their page, served under a strict sandbox so they can’t touch this site, its cookies or the admin. How the sandbox works.
- Status that changes the buttons. Free, Commercial, Coming Soon or Custom build decides what a visitor is offered: a download, a buy button, a release note or just the live site.
- Projects and posts linked both ways. A project lists its articles, and every blog post shows the projects it is about.
- Plugin details kept current. A project can follow a plugin installed on the site, so its version and requirements update themselves.
- The Work with us form. Enquiries are stored before they are emailed and are checked for spam without a CAPTCHA, by the form itself and by Spam Eater.
- Built for a block theme. Templates for the directory and project pages plus a set of blocks, with no build step.
It is built for this site rather than for release, so there is nothing to download. It works alongside the AccessNow Theme, and the theme still works if the plugin is switched off.
