Site Replica Pro vs WP Staging: going live safely

Site Replica Pro vs WP Staging compared: plan prices, pushing a local copy to live, keeping live orders and members, and rolling back if needed.

Site Replica Pro vs WP Staging: going live safely

Weighing up Site Replica Pro vs WP Staging? Both can copy a WordPress site, let you work on the copy, and push it back to the live site while leaving some tables alone. They differ in which plan you need for that, in what you see before you push, and in what happens if the result isn’t right. Here is a fair look at both.

Who each tool suits

WP Staging suits people who think staging-first: make a staging copy, test there, push it live. Its plans step up from Personal to Agency, adding push, cloud backups, local-to-live sync, multisite and restore along the way, and it is priced in euros.

Site Replica Pro suits site owners, freelancers and agencies who rebuild a site on their own computer or a staging address and need to put it live on a site that kept taking orders, members and form entries in the meantime.

Prices as listed on 2 October 2026. WP Staging prices in euros, Site Replica Pro in US dollars. “Not found” means we found no such feature on the vendor’s own pages.

WP Staging’s plans are from its pricing section, and the advice to back up first is in its guide to copying a staging site to the live site. Both tools leave localhost, development and staging copies out of the site count.

Where WP Staging is better

  • Multisite. Its Developer plan includes multisite. Site Replica can back up a network but can’t restore one yet.
  • A staging-first workflow. If you want staging to be the centre of how you work, with push and cloud backups in one plan, WP Staging’s Business plan is built that way.
  • Staging copies online, ready to push. From Business (€139, 3 sites), a staging site you test on can be pushed to live.

Where Site Replica Pro is different

  • Sending a local copy live is on every plan. The single-site plan (US$59, or US$29.50 at the launch price until 30 April 2027) sends from your computer to the live site; there is no higher tier to unlock it.
  • It tells you what you are about to overwrite. What changed lists the posts and pages added or edited on the live site since your copy was made, new users and comments, tables that have gained rows, and files added, changed or removed.
  • It suggests the tables to keep. Users, comments, and the orders, memberships and form entries of the plugins it recognises are ticked for you when a sent backup arrives. Check them against your own plugins; it knows the common ones.
  • The safety net is built in. You don’t need to back up the live site yourself first. Nothing changes until an administrator reviews the plan and types the site’s address, and afterwards you choose Keep or Roll back, with no time limit. Roll back puts the previous site back exactly, tables and files.
  • Built for strict hosting. Only the files the live site doesn’t already have are uploaded, in small encrypted batches that resume after an interruption, and files that exist only on the live site are never deleted.

What Site Replica Pro doesn’t do

To be fair about our own side too, a few limits are worth knowing before launch day:

  • Settings always come from your copy. The options table is deliberately not offered for keeping, because a redesign whose settings didn’t come with it is not a redesign.
  • The suggestion knows the common plugins, not all of them. A bespoke table your developer added years ago needs ticking by hand; What changed shows it if it has gained rows.
  • Sending needs Pro on both sites, plus HTTPS and enough free disk on the live site. A copy on your own computer or at a staging address doesn’t use a licence, so one live site still needs only one.

Which should you choose?

Choose WP Staging if you run multisite networks, or push to live from an online staging site rather than from your own computer.

Choose Site Replica Pro if you build on your own computer, want to send to live from the cheapest plan, and want to see what the live site has gained, keep it, and roll back if needed without arranging a separate backup first. How to push a staging site to live without losing orders goes through launch day step by step.

Try it

Start with the free Site Replica plugin from the Site Replica page: back up, clone and restore whole sites, even large ones on shared hosting. When launch day comes, the plans are on the Site Replica Pro page.

Every step of a send, from “What changed” to Keep or Roll back, is in putting a redesign live in the help centre.

Switching from WP Staging?

Use the code SWITCH_WPSTAGING at checkout for 30% off Site Replica Pro, for as long as you keep renewing (new customers only). Codes don’t combine, and until 30 April 2027 the launch price, half off for as long as you renew, is the better deal, so the plan buttons on the Pro page apply that one for you.
