AccessNow LMS, my free WordPress LMS plugin for running online courses on your own site, is now listed in the WordPress.org plugin directory. Install it from Plugins → Add New by searching for “AccessNow LMS”, or from its WordPress.org page. From now on, updates arrive through WordPress like any other plugin’s.
To celebrate, AccessNow LMS Pro is half price for as long as you keep renewing, for licences bought before 30 April 2027. See the launch prices.
Already using it? Switch to the WordPress.org copy
If you downloaded AccessNow LMS from its project page, you already have the same plugin with the same folder name, so its updates now come from WordPress.org like any other plugin’s (a newly listed plugin can take a day or two to show up there). Your courses, students and settings stay as they are. Version 1.1.2 also sends Get support to the plugin’s WordPress.org support forum, and adds a Rate it link on the Plugins screen.
Thank you to the Plugins Team
The WordPress Plugins Team reviews every plugin before it is listed, and their review made this one better. Most visibly, the Japanese translation now comes from translate.wordpress.org rather than being bundled, so a Japanese course shows the plugin’s text in Japanese once the site has the language pack, and anyone can add another language there. Thank you to the team.
What the free plugin does
Courses made of units, lessons and quizzes, with progress bars, certificates with a shareable link, points and badges, and a student dashboard. It asks students to redo a lesson when you change it, so a finished course always means they have seen the current version. A course’s access can end on a date, such as the end of a term. Building your first course takes you through it, and the guitar course demo shows a complete course you can take as a student.
The launch offer
- Half price for life: US$39.50 a year for 1 site, US$74.50 for 10 sites, US$124.50 for unlimited sites. The price you pay is the price you renew at, for as long as you keep renewing.
- Founding lifetime licences: pay once, for the first 100 buyers only. US$199 for 1 site, US$349 for 10, US$599 for unlimited.
What Pro adds
The free plugin runs complete courses. Pro is for when you want to sell them and run classes: Stripe checkout with no WooCommerce, course bundles and coupons, groups with leaders who add their own students and see their progress, instructors who write courses for you to publish, and certificates in your own design. Pro is an add-on, so the free plugin stays installed and keeps your courses. The Pro page compares it with the other WordPress LMS plugins.
