This is the theme you are looking at. AccessNow is a block theme built for this site: a child of Twenty Twenty-Five that keeps WordPress doing the heavy lifting and adds the brand on top — navy and teal, dark gradient heroes, and card grids that match the project directory.
Everything is templates, patterns and CSS. There is no page builder, no build step and no framework: the styling lives in theme.json and one stylesheet, so the editor shows the same colours, spacing and type scale that visitors see.
What it does
- Brand palette in the editor. The parent theme’s colour slugs are remapped, so patterns that ship with Twenty Twenty-Five pick up the AccessNow brand instead of fighting it.
- Heroes that fit on screen. Titles and spacing scale with the viewport so a hero lands above the fold on a laptop.
- Blog cards that match the directory. Posts and projects share one visual language, including a generated cover when a post has no featured image, so grids never have holes.
- Small touches. Reading time on posts, the current section kept active in the menu, and the current post left out of “More from the blog”.
- Works on its own. Everything that touches the Projects plugin is guarded, so the theme still works if the plugin is switched off.
It is built for this site rather than for release, so there is nothing to download. It is here as a worked example of a brand-led block theme.
